Loudoun Impact Fund Grants $125,000 to Local Charities
Madison President, Jim McDermott recently gathered with fellow donors and nonprofit leaders to celebrate $125,000 in grants made to 16 local nonprofit organizations by the Loudoun Impact Fund (“LIF”). The grants are made possible through the pooling of donations from more than 50 generous individuals and businesses including AHT Insurance, AllTransPack, Veatch Commercial Real Estate, CVCA: Cardiac Care for Pets, and Madison Wealth Management. An organizing member of LIF since 2014, Madison supports the giving circle to further our philanthropic commitment to communities in which we work and live.
LIF members review grant applications submitted by community based nonprofits, and together decide which should receive grants based on local needs and program values. The grant reception, held at Integrus Holdings in Ashburn, VA, gave organizers an opportunity to publicly announce and honor each of the award recipients. LIF is overseen and administered through a joint initiative of the Community Foundation for Northern Virginia and the Community Foundation for Loudoun and Northern Fauquier Counties. Since its inception in 2014, LIF has granted close to $500,000 to charitable organizations.
This year’s grants will help over 28,000 at-risk youth, older adults, and people with disabilities in Loudoun County. Click here tor a full list of the 2018 LIF grant recipients.
Madison has found that LIF provides an ideal way for members to give in a targeted and well informed fashion with tools to measure the impact of our efforts. If you are interested in making a difference locally, we encourage you to visit LIF or ask Jim to share his experiences.
