Each day in the U.S., seven people die as a result of home fires, and another 36 people are injured. Madison Wealth Management is helping to spread the word about the Red Cross’s new Home Fire Preparedness challenge – #IAmPrepared.
The goal is to spread awareness via social media so everyone can “get prepared.” How can you help?
Get Prepared, Spread the Word and Save a Life!
GET PREPARED
- Educate yourself on home fires.
- The Basics.
- Home Fire Safety Checklist.
- Home Fire Escape Plan.
- Check your smoke alarms at home.
- Create a plan for what to do in case you have a fire.
- If you need smoke alarms installed in your home (for free) and a fire escape plan, call your local Red Cross (Cincinnati at 513-579-3003 or NoVA at 703-584-8400) and make an appointment.
SPREAD THE WORD
- Help us spread the word via social media. Tweet, post or share a photo or video of you and your family on your favorite social media account showing that you are ready by tagging the Cincinnati Red Cross and using the hashtag #IAmPrepared.
- Challenge your family members, friends, neighbors, colleagues, associates, total strangers to get prepared and then share on social media that they are prepared.SAVE A LIFE
- Volunteer to install smoke alarms in other homes around the community. Bring together a group of friends, a community engagement group from work or just come alone. Contact the Red Cross preparedness coordinator [email protected] (Cincinnati) to coordinate dates and locations.
