Madison Grows in Rank, Size, Commitment to Clients

“From a small seed a mighty trunk may grow.” ~ Aeschylus

It is estimated that there are more than 10,000 Registered Investment Advisors (RIAs) in the nation. We are pleased to announce that Madison has ranked 331st nationally with Financial Advisor, in terms of Assets Under Management for independent RIA’s, and 9th in their Top 50 Fastest Growing Firms, in terms of percentage growth.  Madison was also named to the 2019 edition of the Financial Times (FT) 300 Top Registered Investment Advisers. This list recognizes top independent RIA firms from across the United States.

Madison’s growth is attributable to a mix of activity: welcoming clients through referrals from existing clients, positive investment results, and a 2019 acquisition of boutique investment firm, Greystone Investment Management.  The Greystone professional team, their approximately 100 client relationships and $300 million in assets under management transitioned to Madison in early January 2019. Madison now manages over $900 million in financial assets.

“Our increased scale and breadth of capabilities serve our clients’ best interests.” said Ed Kuresman, Cincinnati Managing Principal and Chief Investment Officer at Madison.

With growth comes the need for more space. Our Cincinnati office in Kenwood is expanding from 4,200 square feet to 6,250 square feet, a nearly 50% increase in space. We have also expanded our Leesburg office space, and added two new Client Relationship Specialists there as well.  Both moves accommodate staff increases and the firm’s future growth. Our Cincinnati office expansion was recently highlighted in a Cincinnati Business Courier article.

Not satisfied with simply growing our assets under management, a priority of Madison’s is to form long-term relationships with our clients, built upon understanding, communication, trust, and mutual respect. That is why we offer an experienced, credentialed team of professionals who are dedicated to helping clients achieve their goals.  We have found that many of our clients choose us based on our guiding principles, outlined on our website under “Why Us”.

And, our guiding principles have factored in to being named a top RIA for several years in a row by online news media site AdvisoryHQ, who independently researches and ranks financial advisory and wealth management firms. AdvisoryHQ states: “With a highly experienced team, in-depth financial planning, and a strong client commitment, Madison Wealth Management solidifies their 5-star rating as one of the best financial advisors in Cincinnati to consider partnering with this year.”

We are also pleased to be named to Citywire’s inaugural list of “Future 50 RIAs”!  This industry publication recognized 50 of the firms that best represent its vision of the future of the industry. Citywire measured Madison’s independence, how we manage our own investment practice, what percentage of our income is fee based, how inclusive, diverse and sustainably-minded we are and how much we have grown as a business in recent years.

“People and culture are keys to our success,” said Jim McDermott, Madison President and Co-founder. “Our clients benefit from an expanded level of investment research, financial planning and customized wealth management solutions. We are very pleased with these latest rankings and our growth. We owe thanks to our clients and our professionals. ”
