Madi McDermott and Jim McDermott

Jim McDermott, President of Madison Wealth Management, recently joined the Board of Trustees of Morven Park, a 1,000 acre historic estate located in Leesburg, Virginia. Owned and operated by the Westmoreland Davis Memorial Foundation, Morven Park is dedicated to preserving its historic buildings and open space, while providing the community a beautiful place to discover, play, and connect.

Visitors to Morven Park enjoy the beautiful scenery, formal boxwood gardens, iconic Greek Revival mansion, and walking and hiking trails. Tours of the Davis mansion – included on the National Register of Historic Places – explore the civic and social lives of former Virginia Governor Westmoreland Davis and his wife, Marguerite, during the first half of the 20th century. The mansion is surrounded by historic structures framed by gardens of magnolia, holly, and boxwood. Expansive lawns open up to views of a forested ridgeline, horse pastures, and 100-year-old brick walls punctuated by wrought-iron gates.

“Morven Park offers a bit of everything” says Jim McDermott, including “scenic beauty, history and civics lessons, equestrian events and more. I’m pleased to be a part of a treasure like Morven Park for the benefit of our community.”

The grounds also offer a premier equestrian venue, the Morven Park International Equestrian Center, which attracts some of the world’s top riders. Morven Park hosts events year-round in nearly all riding disciplines, including the Spring and Fall International Horse Trials, and the Loudoun Hunt’s always enjoyable spring point-to-point race to be held this year on April 24th.

Jim recently participated in a Meet Morven Park interview you can view here.

Jim invites you to come stroll the grounds of this Virginia Historic Landmark, visit the mansion, or enjoy one of the many equestrian events throughout the seasons. Learn more about Morven Park here: https://www.morvenpark.org/welcome.html
