We’re often asked, “What sets Madison apart from other Wealth Management firms?” And one of the first things we point to is our experienced, credentialed team of professionals, dedicated to helping you achieve your goals. We are passionate about our mission and many of us have earned advanced designations that are highly valued in the financial planning and investment management fields.
Additionally, over the years we have found that many of our clients choose us because of our guiding principles:
Interest Aligned / Transparency
We have no conflicts of interest in selecting investment products for our clients. While some financial advisors are paid to push a product or generate transactions, Madison is focused on providing the best advice to our clients, not selling products. We are not part of a bank, insurance company, or Wall Street firm, and have no proprietary interests. There are no hidden compensation arrangements. We are paid one way – by our clients. We charge a fee based upon assets under management. We personally invest our own assets in the same strategies and investment vehicles as our clients.
Fiduciary Standard of Care
As an independent Registered Investment Advisor (RIA), Madison is a fiduciary and has a fiduciary duty to act in the best interest of our clients and to disclose any possible conflicts of interest. Ethically, legally and philosophically, our interests are aligned with our clients.
Madison Wealth Management is registered with the United States Securities and Exchange Commission as an investment adviser. Brokerage and investment advisory services and fees differ and it is important for you to understand the differences. Free and simple tools are available to research firms and financial professionals at Investor.gov/CRS, which also provides educational materials about broker-dealers, investment advisers and investing. Please see our Investment Advisor Public Disclosure for more information.
Independence / Objectivity / Best-in-Class Partners
Madison is independent and objective. Good ideas are actively explored from all sources because we adhere to an open architecture approach and interface with multiple custodians and vendors. Our strategic account custodial partners include Charles Schwab, TD Ameritrade and TIAA.
Investment Philosophy of Asset Allocation and Diversification
Madison believes that asset allocation is a key element in determining overall portfolio returns and must accurately reflect our client’s individual goals. Consequently, considerable time is spent understanding our clients’ dreams, goals and priorities before constructing an investment plan.
As outlined in our Privacy Pledge, Madison is committed to protecting your privacy and the confidentiality of our relationship.
Low Client to Advisor Ratio / Ownership Culture
The firm is committed to maintaining a low client-to-advisor ratio to allow for exceptional service. The professionals at Madison work as a team and act as “owners” in serving the client.
Education and Experience
The firm has extensive experience working with high net worth individuals, families, trusts and associated interests. Most of our professionals have attained either the Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) or Certified Financial Planner (CFP®) designation. Please see our for ADV Part 2 Madison Brochure 3-2020 for more information regarding our professionals and their experience and designations.
Madison has the ability to leverage numerous relationships within the private wealth management arena as well as work extensively with our clients’ other professional advisors to ensure continuity of their overall plan.
