Jim, a CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNING™ practitioner, has more than 25 years of experience in providing wealth management advice. Prior to founding Madison, Jim served as Senior Vice President and Managing Director of the Provident Private Bank in Cincinnati and as Senior Vice President of the NationsBank (now Bank of America) Private Client Group in the Washington, DC area. He is a member of the Financial Planning Association and currently serves on the Inova Loudoun Hospital Capital Campaign Committee. For nearly a decade, Jim also served on the Board of Trustees of Loudoun Country Day School including roles as Treasurer and Executive Committee member.

Jim earned his B.A. from Georgetown University and the University College-Galway, Ireland.  He resides with his wife and two daughters near Leesburg, Virginia where he enjoys outdoor sports, traveling and spending time with his family.

Ed, a Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA), has more than 15 years of research and portfolio management experience. He is a member of the CFA Institute and past President of the CFA Society of Cincinnati. In 2014, Ed was named to the Cincinnati Business Courier’s Forty Under 40 class, chosen from over 400 nominees as our next generation of leaders.  He is very active in numerous charitable endeavors including the Inner City Tennis Project and the Peaslee Neighborhood Center both of which create opportunities for residents of Cincinnati’s Over-the-Rhine community. Ed serves on the endowment committee for Adath Israel Congregation, The Cedar Village Foundation, and The Jewish Federation of Cincinnati, and is currently Board President for Rockwern Academy. In 2009, Ed was recognized as a “Volunteer of the Year” by the Jewish Federation of Cincinnati for his efforts and in 2012 was awarded the Kate S. Mack Young Leadership Award.

Ed graduated from Bowling Green State University with a B.S. in Business Administration, majoring in Finance. A highly ranked amateur tennis player, Ed was co-captain and four-year member of his university’s varsity tennis team. A Cincinnati native, Ed resides with his wife and two children in Symmes Township.

Alan, a Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA), has more than 25 years of experience in providing financial advice to private and institutional clients. Prior to joining Madison, Alan was Vice President and Managing Director at Provident Bank where he built a profitable lending and investment portfolio. Other experience includes serving as a Vice President at Creditanstalt in New York and Vienna, Austria. Alan began his career with the Irving Trust Bank (New York) upon graduating with an M.A. in International Economics from Johns Hopkins University (Washington D.C./ Bologna, Italy). Alan is a member of the CFA Institute and the CFA Society of Cincinnati, and a former member of the TIAA-CREF Board of Financial Advisors.

Alan earned his B.A. in economics from the University of Nebraska. He is a board member of the Dan Beard Council, Boy Scouts of America and serves as chair of its fundraising projects. Alan is also a member of the Investment Advisory Committee of the Episcopal Church of the Redeemer.  Several endowment funds have elected Alan to serve as Trustee.  Alan resides in Cincinnati with his wife and four children where he enjoys coaching, cycling and skiing.

Joe, a CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNING™ professional, has nearly 20 years of experience in providing financial advice to private clients and is head of the firm’s financial planning team. His passion for the financial planning process lies in the education and empowering of Clients, enabling them to make sound financial life decisions. Prior to joining Madison, Joe was a Branch Manager and Vice President of TD Waterhouse (now TD Ameritrade). He is a member of the Southwest Ohio Chapter of the Financial Planning Association.

A Cincinnati native, Joe graduated from Purcell Marian high school and attended Miami University in Oxford, OH on a four-year Evans Scholarship where he majored in Finance and earned his B.S. from the Farmer School of Business. Married with two children, Joe resides in Fort Thomas, KY where he is active in the community coaching youth sports, is a board member for the Kentucky Power baseball organization, and serves as a Junior Achievement classroom volunteer. His interests include staying physically active, coaching baseball, cooking & entertaining, and traveling around the United States with his family.

Sally Humphrey, MBA

Sally has over 25 years of experience in the investment advisory industry. Prior to joining Madison in 2019, Sally served as Greystone’s Chief Executive Officer and Chief Compliance Officer. Prior to this, Sally was a professional with Bartlett & Co. in Cincinnati.

Sally earned her B.S. in Chemistry from the University of Cincinnati and a Masters of Business Administration from Xavier University. She volunteers her time at the Cincinnati Hills Christian Academy as a member of the Board of Trustees Advancement Subcommittee as well as the Business Owner Roundtable. Outside of work, Sally enjoys spending time with family and traveling. She currently resides in Cincinnati with her husband and two children.

Peter F. Levin, CFA, LLB

Peter, a Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA), co-founded Greystone Investment Management, LLC, a Cincinnati-based firm that joined Madison in January 2019. Peter served as Greystone’s Chairman and Chief Investment Officer for close to 20 years. Prior to founding Greystone, Peter was with Bartlett & Co for over 30 years, serving in various leadership capacities including Partner, Member of the Board of Directors, Senior Portfolio Manager, Head of Equity Research and Chairman of Mutual Funds.

Peter earned his B.A. from Williams College and holds a Bachelor of Laws degree from the University of Michigan, School of Law. He serves on the Boards of the Cincinnati Psychoanalytic Institute, Ohio Justice & Policy Center, and Project Grad. In addition, Peter also serves as President of the Levin Family Foundation.

Most recently, Julie led the development of advisory services for retirees at Financial Engines, Inc., an independent investment advisor based in Sunnyvale, CA. Julie was Director of Investment Advisory Services at Harris myCFO, Inc., a San Francisco based wealth management firm serving high-net-worth individuals and families.  Julie is a member of the CFA Institute, the CFA Society of Cincinnati, and the Financial Planning Association of Southwestern Ohio. She was named to the 2018-19 class of Women Excel (WE) Lead, the Cincinnati Chamber’s highly selective flagship leadership development program.

Active in her community, Julie serves as a Junior League of Cincinnati Endowment Trustee and volunteers with numerous organizations focused on education, including instruction in financial literacy. She is also a member of Impact100, a charitable giving circle based in Cincinnati.

Rick, a CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNING™ practitioner, has more than 25 years of investment management experience and is a member of the Financial Planning Association. Prior to joining Madison, Rick was a private investor and involved with the Hechinger Company. Active in his community, Rick serves on the National Board of Higher Achievement and is chair of its Fund Development Committee. He also serves on the Investment Committee for St. Andrews High School in Potomac, MD and is a past board member of Washington Youth Baseball Academy.  Recently, Rick joined the Advisory Board for the 11th Street Bridge Park in Washington, DC. He has been strategically involved with the Latin American Youth Center (LAYC) for many years and is founder of its Chairman’s Council. Rick also serves as president for the England Family Foundation.

Rick earned his M.B.A. from Duke University and his B.S., Summa Cum Laude, from the University of Maryland. Rick also attended Georgetown University’s Financial Planning Program. A lifelong Washingtonian, Rick is married with three children, and enjoys cycling, tennis, photography and skiing.

Brad, a Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) has over a decade of experience in the financial services arena. Prior to joining Madison, Brad was a senior investment officer and portfolio manager at First Financial Bank.  Previous to this, Brad was an equity analyst for Morningstar in Chicago and RS Investments in Chapel Hill on both the buy and sell side. Brad started his career at Deloitte & Touche, where he focused on operational and strategy engagements in the investment management area.

Brad has been quoted and featured in video and print publications including the Wall Street Journal, WSJ Smart Money, Barron’s, Crain’s Business, and Dow Jones Market Watch.  He is a member of the CFA Institute and the CFA Society of Cincinnati.

With a double major in Finance and Management Information Systems, Brad earned his B.S. from Miami University’s Farmer School of Business. He currently serves on the University of Cincinnati Economics Center YP board and was selected for the United Way of Greater Cincinnati’s Board Orientation and Leadership Development program. Brad also serves on Miami University’s Professionals Advisory Council for the Farmer School of Business. In 2019, Brad was named to the Cincinnati Business Courier’s Forty under 40 Class. Brad is a Cincinnati native, growing up in Mason and attending Moeller High School.  He resides in Madeira with his wife, Jaclyn.

Mark holds a Masters of Business Administration from Xavier University and a B.A. in history and economics from Georgetown University in Washington, DC. He has a long history of community involvement including board and committee service on the following organizations:  Cincinnati Playhouse in the Park, Cincinnati Chapter of the American Red Cross, Daniel Beard Council of the Boy Scouts of America, ReSource, and Leadership Cincinnati.  He currently sits on the Finance Committee of St. Xavier High School, teaches classes at the Osher Lifelong Learning Institute and serves as a character coach for the “Winners Walk Tall” program, under the umbrella of the Literacy Network of Cincinnati. Prior to joining Madison, Heather ran her own tax and business advisory firm for five years. Previously, Heather was employed as a controller, finance, and human resource professional by several small-to-mid-sized companies in the Washington, DC area.

Heather earned her B.S. in Accounting from the University of Richmond in Virginia. Active in her community, Heather serves on the Financial Aid Committee for A Place to Be, based in Middleburg, Virginia, and is the fundraising chair for the Lenah Mill Marlins community swim team. She resides with her husband and three children in Aldie, Virginia.

Michael, a Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA), was Director of Equity Research at Greystone Investment Management prior to joining Madison in 2019. Previous to this, Michael held several professional positions at PNC Bank and Fidelity Investments. Michael is a member of the CFA Institute and CFA Society of Cincinnati.

Michael earned his B.S. in Business Administration from Miami University and holds a Master of Business Administration degree from Xavier University. Michael resides in Madeira, Ohio with his wife and two sons, and enjoys coaching youth sports in his community.

Jeanne Sands, FPQPTM linkedin

Jeanne joined the Madison team in 2015 and obtained her designation as a Financial Paraplanner Qualified ProfessionalTM in December 2016. Prior to joining Madison, Jeanne worked as a Legal Assistant for a highly regarded estate planning law firm in Vienna, Virginia. She also worked as a Data Breach Services Manager providing corporate breach remediation and response services for a company based in Chantilly, Virginia. Jeanne earned her B.S. in Integrative Studies with a Concentration in Health Sciences at George Mason University.

A Northern Virginia native, she resides in Leesburg, Virginia with her husband, a Maryland firefighter, and their two young sons. When away from the office, Jeanne enjoys writing, yoga, trying out new restaurants, and is a passionate fan of the Washington Redskins and the New York Mets.

Sheila Adika, MBA

Trader and Portfolio Reporting Associate

Sheila joined Madison in 2019, moving with Greystone Investment Management where she was a trader and portfolio associate. Prior to joining Greystone, Sheila was a Senior Operations Associate at Johnson Investment Counsel. She started her career as an Investment Associate for an investment advisory firm based in Cleveland, Ohio.

Sheila earned her B.S. in Business Administration in International Business from the Bowling Green State University and she holds a Master of Business Administration degree in Finance from Cleveland State University. Along with several other Madison team members, Sheila volunteers her time with the Student Enterprise Program (StEP). Born in Accra, Ghana, Sheila currently resides in Madisonville, Ohio. She enjoys traveling, reading, music, and cheering on Chelsea FC.

Jayme Harris

Financial Planner

Jayme joined the Madison team in 2019 as a Financial Planner. She has more than 15 years of experience in the financial services industry. Prior to joining Madison, Jayme worked in a similar role for another independent wealth management firm in Cincinnati.

Jayme earned her B.S. in Business Administration, majoring in Finance from the University of Louisville. She resides in Ft. Thomas, Kentucky with her husband and four sons. When away from the office, Jayme enjoys watching her boys participate in sports, reading and spending time outdoors.

Katalin Őri

Client Services

Kati joined the Madison team in 2005 after working at the Cincinnati Art Museum. Before moving to Cincinnati, Kati served as Circulation Department Supervisor at the University of Maryland’s Health Science and Human Services Library.  And while still living in Hungary, Kati was part of a publishing team at the Hungarian Academy of Sciences – Konkoly Observatory. She also served as Executive Secretary to the President of the Hungarian National Agricultural Cooperative.

Kati earned her B.S. in Library Sciences at the Bessenyei György Teachers College in Nyíregyháza, Hungary. Born and raised in Budapest, Hungary, Kati formerly served as a Hungarian translator volunteer for the American Red Cross’ Holocaust & War Victims Tracing Center in Baltimore, Maryland.  She now resides in Cincinnati with her husband and son. When away from the office she enjoys traveling, music and art.

Alexis Connolly, MBA

Client Services

Alexis joined the Madison team in 2019 as a Client Services Specialist. Prior to joining Madison, Alexis worked as the Director of Business Operations for Inflexion Advisors, a boutique human resources consulting firm with a national clientele. Alexis has also worked as an educator in the classroom, teaching hearing impaired students as well as serving as Vice Principal at two separate Virginia schools for over a dozen years. While situated primarily in our Northern Virginia office, Alexis also provides additional support to our Bethesda office, working with Senior Wealth Advisor, Rick England and the England Family Foundation.

Alexis received her undergraduate degree from Rollins College, her Masters in Education from Gallaudet College, and a graduate certificate in School Administration from Virginia Commonwealth University. She is fluent in English, Spanish and American Sign Language and has lived and worked in Venezuela, Puerto Rico, The Bahamas and Canada. Alexis currently resides in Purcellville, Virginia with her husband, and has two daughters. When away from the office, Alexis enjoys spending time with her family and Golden Retrievers, travelling and making family movies.

Kim C. Corney

Client Services

Kim has more than 25 years of finance and accounting experience. Prior to joining Madison, Kim served as a staff accountant for eight years at a leading Midwestern architecture and design firm. Previous to this, Kim spent a combined 13 years with the national accounting firms of Grant Thornton and Price Waterhouse Coopers. Kim also served several years on the Board of the Cincinnati Chapter of the American Business Women’s Association.

A Cincinnati native, Kim is married and has one son. She enjoys reading, gardening and being out in nature. Kim is a frequent volunteer at Save the Animals Foundation and City Gospel Mission.

Laura Sullivan

Client Services

Laura joined the Madison team in 2019 as a Client Services Specialist. Earlier in her career, Laura worked as a Financial Consultant at Merrill Lynch, and an Investment Advisor at Charles Schwab. She then moved to the classroom as an educator, teaching 7th grade Pre-Algebra and Math. Most recently, Laura was a business advisor for Northern Virginia based Mind Thread Consulting.

Laura earned a double major in Economics and Business Administration at the University of New Hampshire, Whittemore School of Business. She currently resides in Aldie, Virginia with her husband and two children. When away from the office, Laura enjoys hiking, figure skating, and making artisanal homemade breads.

Stephanie Van De Velde

Client Services

Stephanie joined the Madison team in 2019, moving with Greystone Investment Management where she served as Director of Operations. Prior to her Director role, Stephanie assisted in managing operations and compliance at Greystone.

Stephanie graduated from Lakota High School in Cincinnati and attended Wilmington College. She grew up in West Chester, Ohio and currently resides in Colerain Township with her husband and son. Stephanie enjoys boating, spending each summer on Lake St Clair in Michigan and Lake Norris in Tennessee. In addition to boating, she enjoys motorcycle rides with her husband, knitting in winter months, volunteering at local parks and Mathew 25 Ministries, and spending time with family.

Sheila Zenni

Client Services

Sheila joined the Madison team in 2018 after working at First Financial Bank as a Wealth Management Coordinator and Executive Assistant for over 7 years. Prior to this, Sheila worked at Western & Southern Life Insurance and Provident Bank. Sheila has been in the financial services industry for over 30 years.

Active in her community, Sheila supports veteran’s organizations, Susan G. Komen, and has volunteered with Milford Miami Ministries, The Drop Inn Center, and the Student Enterprise Program (StEP). Sheila and her husband reside in Cincinnati and are the proud parents of two daughters and a grandson. When away from the office she enjoys hiking, gardening and reading.

Melissa Anderson

Melissa joined Madison in 2019, moving with Greystone Investment Management where she was the Compliance Officer and Human Resources Assistant. Prior to joining Greystone, Melissa was a Paralegal at Keating Muething & Klekamp PLL for over 10 years. Melissa served on the Ohio State Bar Association Paralegal Certification Board for several years.

Melissa earned her B.A. degree in History and a Legal Assisting Certificate from the University of Cincinnati. She is an active member in her community, supporting numerous organizations with her time and talent, including St Vincent de Paul, Max’s Meals & More, and the Reds Community Fund. She also volunteers on a regular basis at Immaculate Heart of Mary Parish. Melissa resides in Cincinnati, Ohio with her husband and two daughters. When away from the office, she enjoys volunteering, reading and traveling.

Rebecca McDermott  linkedin

Communications Strategist

Rebecca joined the Madison team in 2012 as the firm’s Communications Strategist.  She manages the firm’s website content, writes for and publishes Madison’s monthly e-newsletter and coordinates printed materials and advertising. Rebecca has a background in commercial banking, finance and management with more than 25 years of professional work experience. She earned her B.A., Summa Cum Laude, from George Mason University and has completed Masters level courses at the University of Cincinnati.

Active in her community, Rebecca is a grant-maker for the Loudoun Impact Fund (LIF), a philanthropic organization based in Loudoun County, Virginia. LIF is a component fund of the Community Foundation for Loudoun & Northern Fauquier Counties. Rebecca also served as a 100WomenStrong grant-maker for five years and a Trustee for Inova Loudoun Hospital Foundation Board for two years.  Born and raised in McLean, Virginia, Rebecca currently resides in Leesburg with her husband and two daughters.

Kevin Woodard, Esq. 

Chief Compliance Officer

As President of Dinsmore Compliance Services, Kevin was hired by Madison as its Chief Compliance Officer in 2015.  Kevin has served as chief compliance officer and chief legal officer for a variety of registered investment advisers and broker-dealers, as well as counsel for various mutual fund groups. His hands-on experience with legal and compliance groups has proved most helpful in his work with our firm.

Kevin earned his J.D. at the University of Cincinnati College of Law in 1991.  He currently resides in Milford, Ohio with his wife Kristin and their four children. During the summer, Kevin and his family like spending weekends waterskiing at their lake house in Indiana.
